What should I continue to do?

Keep your staff fully up to date on all things you are doing to reduce their risk of exposure to the virus and to ensure they can balance caring for their family with work commitments. If staff can work from home, you should be supporting them to do so. 

 

Publish daily updates to employees based on the latest Government guidelines. The government publishes daily updates with the latest stats and advice.

 

Make it clear too what they should be doing to help – self-isolation if they or one of their family members thinks they may have the virus and continuing to adopt stringent hygiene practices – washing hands and using hand sanitisers. 

 

Have a look at policies you have that you may need to use so that you are clear on what your company policy is – the following are examples:

  • Homeworking/flexible working 

  • Sick pay

  • Annual leave

  • Special leave

  • Emergency parental leave
     

If you don’t have these policies, you may wish to consider implementing them, and/or putting in place some temporary guidelines.
